While battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Lancaster Elementary third grader Cree Thompson, 8, has become a part of the Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team through Team IMPACT, which pairs children with health challenges with athletic teams. After being relegated to text messages and Zoom meetings last year, Cree is now able to join the team in person.
