The Journal Gazette

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said today it arrested a California woman and seized 510 pounds of marijuana valued at approximately $1.3 million during a traffic stop in Cuyahoga County Monday afternoon.

Around 1:20 p.m., troopers stopped a truck for speeding and marked lane violations on the Ohio Turnpike near Olmsted Falls, southwest of Cleveland, the highway patrol said in a statement. It said officers noticed criminal behavior and brought in a drug-sniffing dog.

Keryl J. Lopez, 48, of McKinleyville, Calif., was taken to the Strongsville City Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana.

If convicted, she could face up to 22 years in prison and a fine of up to $40,000, the statement said.
