Resurfacing to begin this week on two state highways in DeKalb
The Journal Gazette
Resurfacing of Indiana 8 and Indiana 327 in DeKalb County begins today, weather permitting, in a project that will last through late October, the Indiana Department of Transportation said.
Work will take place on Indiana 8 from County Road 35 to County Road 39, and on Indiana 327 from Indiana 205 to Indiana 8 through Garrett, the transportation department said in a statement.
Work is to begin with asphalt patching on Indiana 8, followed by curb-ramp upgrades on Indiana 327 through Garrett, the statement said.
Later this spring, it said, contractors will work on asphalt patching on Indiana 327, followed by asphalt resurfacing of both Indiana 8 and Indiana 327. During the day, drivers should watch lane restrictions and possible stopped traffic, as well as flaggers directing traffic through the construction zone.
Tentatively beginning in early September, contractors will also replace a small drainage structure over the John Smith Ditch on Indiana 1 between County Road 16 and County Road 12, about three miles north of U.S. 6. That highway will be closed up to 30 days during the work; an official detour will use U.S. 6 to Ohio 49 to Ohio 34 to Indiana 427.
