Arp, Ensley win close battles for council seats

Incumbent Republican city councilmen Paul Ensley and Jason Arp won close battles for re-election Tuesday night.

With 100% of precincts counted, Ensley, the 1st District councilman, had 6,851 votes, or 58%, to 4,874 votes, or 42%, for Democrat Misti Meehan.

Arp, the 4th District councilman, defeated Democrat Patti Hays 5,892 votes, or 51%, to 5,584 votes, or 49%.

Incumbents Tom Didier in the 3rd District and Geoff Paddock in the 5th District won their races, Didier over John Henry and Paddock over Taylor Vanover.
