Komets deal 2

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Komets traded defenseman Brycen Martin and forward Taylor Ross to the Norfolk Admirals today to complete the trade last week for defenseman Gabriel Verpaelst.

All of this was tied to a preseason trade of J.C. Campagna to Norfolk for future considerations. So the Komets essentially dealt Campagna, Martin and Ross for Verpaelst.

The Komets needed to also clear salary cap space for potential moves to come, said coach Ben Boudreau, whose Komets play the Indy Fuel on Friday in Indianapolis.

Verpaelst is scoreless with a fight in two Fort Wayne games. Martin had three goals and nine points in 29 games. And Ross had six goals and eight points in 24 Fort Wayne games.

Campagna has eight goals and 17 points in 24 games with the Admirals.
