The G League announced Friday that the regular season, which was slated to begin Monday, has been postponed until Jan. 5 to give teams the opportunity to evaluate the health of their players following the Christmas holiday and replenish rosters in the wake of a bevy of NBA call-ups.
The Mad Ants were to play three games before Jan. 5 – twice at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and Jan. 1 at Memorial Coliseum – and the team said information on if those games will be rescheduled will come at a later time. The Mad Ants are now slated to return to action Jan. 6 and 8 at the Coliseum against Raptors 905.
The Mad Ants have won 9 of 14 games so far in 2021-22. They were one of eight teams to qualify for the Showcase Cup tournament in Las Vegas, but they lost to eventual-champion Delaware in the first round. All G League teams’ records are resetting to 0-0 for the impending regular season.
