A share of the ACAC title already assured, the Woodlan girls earned the chance Friday to lock up the conference tournament championship as well. Warrior senior Addison Bayman nearly matched Bluffton’s offensive output by herself Friday, netting 19 points as Woodlan took down the Tigers 50-24 in ACAC Tournament semifinal action at South Adams.
Woodlan (14-5) will travel back to Berne tonight to face Adams Central for the title, as the Flying Jets dispatched Southern Wells in the other semifinal, 69-24.
The Warriors used sizable advantages to start and end the game, racing out to a 12-1 edge after one quarter, then closing out the final quarter 21-7.
ANGOLA 47, CENTRAL NOBLE 45: At Albion, the Hornets exacted a measure of revenge by claiming the rematch of the 2019 NECC Tournament championship game.
Ally Lorntz provided the deciding points in the semifinal, sinking a pair of free throws with three seconds remaining as Angola (16-2) won its 15th straight game and advanced to tonight’s championship game at Garrett.
FAIRFIELD 35, FREMONT 22: The Falcons await the Hornets tonight after holding the Eagles to just seven second-half points. Grace Schmucker scored a game-high 14 points for the Eagles (9-9), but just two other teammates broke into the scoring column.
CARROLL 64, BISHOP LUERS 56: At Carroll, senior Malia Williams scored 18 points as the Chargers remained tied for second in the SAC. Jasmine Anderson added 10 for Carroll (12-5, 5-1), while Libby Reimbold and Dori Javins each finished with 16 for Luers (12-6, 4-2).
SOUTH SIDE 48, CONCORDIA 45, OT: At Concordia, Jaci Jones’ go-ahead three-pointer off an Olivia Smith assist helped the Archers stay tied for second with Carroll in the SAC. Jones paced three in double figures for South Side (11-7, 5-1 SAC) with 13 in a contest where neither team built a lead greater than five points. The cadets fell to 8-8, 2-4.
NORTHROP 70, NORTH SIDE 18: At Northrop, TiAuna White finished 14 of 18 from the floor for 29 points as the Bruins (11-8, 3-4 SAC) led 25-4 after one quarter. Jasmine Chambers blocked four shots for North Side (1-17, 0-6).
WOODLAN 59, SOUTH ADAMS 54: At Berne, Joe Reidy poured in 21 points as the Warrior boys also advanced to the ACAC tourney championship tonight. Mitch Mendenhall added 16 for Woodlan (6-5), while James Arnold paced the Starfires (5-4) with 17.
ADAMS CENTRAL 49, SOUTHERN WELLS 42: At Monroe, the Flying Jets used a 23-7 second-quarter advantage to assure the Stardome in Berne plays hosts to the same matchups for the boys and girls title games tonight. Adams Central improved to 4-7 overall, while the Raiders fell to 2-9.
BISHOP LUERS 61, CARROLL 50: At Carroll, Demarcus Hudson scored 19 points of 6-of-8 shooting including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers as the Knights handed the Chargers their first conference loss. Naylon Thompson added 17 points for Luers (7-3, 3-1 SAC).
Jalen Jackson led Carroll (11-2, 3-1) with 14 points while Richie Gross added 13.
