Fremont suspends extracurriculars through Thanksgiving break

VICTORIA JACOBSEN | The Journal Gazette

Fremont has suspended all extracurricular activities as the school transitions to online learning, which will last until the scheduled return from Thanksgiving Break on Nov. 30.

In a video update posted to the district Facebook page, Superintendent Bill Stitt said that there had been several COVID cases within the district, including a person who had been in contact with the JV and varsity girls basketball programs. The girls basketball team (0-3) will postponed the next five games (against Blackhawk Christian, Central Noble, Wayne, West Noble and Edon in Ohio). The team may be allowed to return to play Heritage on Dec. 2.

The Bluffton Invitational, which Fremont wrestling was scheduled to attend on Saturday, was also called off Monday.
