Special events

• The Boat-in-Worship will be 8:30 to 9 a.m. Sunday on Lake Wawasee in Syracuse. The speaker will be Harlan Steffen, who will talk about the Boat-in-Worship's 50-year history. Music will be performed by Janet Norris. The event will happen each Sunday morning through Labor Day. The event is sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association.

• Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, will have a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1 with a $2 bag sale.

• An interfaith meeting for faith-based leaders and community members on “Protecting Places of Worship” will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Public Safety Academy, Ivy Tech South campus, 7602 Patriot Crossing. To register, go to usaoinntraining.org/fwppow2019. The event is free.
