Fort Wayne, Kosciusko crashes kill 2
Two men died Thursday night and early Friday in separate vehicle crashes in Allen and Kosciusko counties.
In Fort Wayne, a motorcyclist died after striking the rear of a vehicle at Dupont Road and Interstate 69.
Aaron W. Sliger, 31, was riding the motorcycle west on Dupont at high speed when he struck the vehicle in front of him about 8 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Police said speed was a factor. It was unclear, they said, whether Sliger was wearing a helmet.
The Allen County coroner said Sliger is the 24th person to die in a vehicle crash in Allen County this year.
In Kosciusko County, a crash early Friday claimed the life of a driver who lost control of his car near Warsaw, police said.
The crash happened around 2:49 a.m. on Packerton Road near County Road 400 South. Officers said Brent Timothy Riley, 27, of Claypool was found unresponsive inside his 2007 Chevrolet Impala, which rolled several times before hitting a tree.
No other drivers were involved, and the crash remains under investigation.
