JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

The masked robber hightailed it out of Check Into Cash in Warsaw on Friday afternoon after flashing a black handgun at the cashier.

Warsaw police got a call around 4 p.m. that the store, 2596 Walton Blvd., had just been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had fled on foot. He took with him an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a news release from the Warsaw police.

The robber wore a white coat, blue jeans and covered his face with a black and yellow winter hat with eye holes cut out of it.

As he fled, he had to maneuver over large dirt mounds to the northwest of the Check Into Cash, the release said.

Officers searched the area, but could not find the suspect.

Flagstar Bank on W. State robbed

Just before 4 p.m., the robber – wearing some type of disguise – handed a note to the teller demanding money.

After he got the money, he fled on foot, police said.

Police dogs were used to track the suspect, but were advised by a witness who heard the suspect's description that the robber had jumped into a full-size black vehicle and sped off.

Detectives are looking through the bank's camera surveillance to obtain an image of the suspect, the release said.
