Four children and an adult escaped a fire on Reed Street.
Firefighters were called around 10 p.m. Thursday to 4003 Reed St., where they saw “heavy fire and smoke” on the first floor of the home, according to a news release. Occupants had escaped by the time crews arrived.
The blaze is under investigation.
Morning blaze in Ohio injures none
No one was injured in a structure fire Friday in Highland Township in Defiance County, Ohio, the township fire department said.
Firefighters were called about 9:30 a.m. to a report of a structure fire at 15740 Hill Road, and found heavy smoke coming from a wood burner, the department said in a statement.
It said crews entered the structure, knocking down the fire.
Livestock were removed from a nearby barn as a precaution, the statement said. Crews were at the scene for two hours.
