Outlook: North Carolina leads the series 21-7 and 5-3 in ACC play. The Tar Heels have won the last two contests – 83-76 on Feb. 4, 2017, and 78-47 on March 22, 2016. ... North Carolina leads 4-2 in South Bend with wins in 1963, 1985, 1994 and 2014 and losses in 1987 and 2016. ...

Senior guard Matt Farrell's status for today is uncertain. He has missed two full games with an ankle injury, including the Irish's 60-53 loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Wednesday. Martinas Geben scored a career-high 16 points in the loss. T.J. Gibbs and John Mooney each added 11 points. ... Notre Dame trailed 30-20 at halftime but came back to lead 38-37 with 11 minutes left in the game, but Georgia Tech responded to lead by 10 with seven minutes left. ...
