Winter weather advisory extended for northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio

The National Weather Service has extended a winter weather advisory for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio until 10 p.m.
Light freezing drizzle, or very light freezing rain mixed with snow at times, is producing a light glaze of ice and snow accumulations of an inch or less on area roads, the weather service said in the advisory.
The glaze of ice will make many untreated roads extremely slippery, it said; surface weather observations and road reports indicated widespread freezing drizzle was causing a light glaze on many roads, affecting travel.
The weather service asked drivers to consider delaying travel if possible. If not, it recommended drivers use extreme caution, leaving extra time to reach their destinations and to allow plenty of space between their vehicles and the ones in front of them.
