March 6, 1948: 4-H Charm School

COREY MCMAKEN | The Journal Gazette

More than 200 girls and women attended an all-day 4-H "Charm School" on March 6, 1948, at Purdue University Center, which was downtown at the intersection of East Jefferson Boulevard and Barr Street.

In this photo, first published March 8, 1848, Carolyn McCray uses what was described in a Journal Gazette caption as "the time-tested technique of balancing a book on her head while climbing stairs in a demonstration on correct posture."

No story accompanied the photo and caption.
